A “Phenom” is Born

by Steve Kauffman

Microphone_clip_art_1 Last night, I joined a throng of gay men – and women – in Chicago at the Barbra Streisand concert.  I’m not a huge fan, so I hadn’t been planning the event for months like many people.  I bought tickets a few days ago on a whim, thinking: “how can I pass up this opportunity when it’s right here in my own backyard?”  However, the feeling last night after two hours of “Babs” was: “ that was phenomenal.”

Next week, Ben and I are presenting a panel on LGBT marketing at the international PRSA conference in Salt Lake City. It will be interesting to see how many PR professionals have been anxiously awaiting the presentation and how many attend our session on a last-minute whim.

More interesting will be our seeing how many people leave thinking that LGBT marketing has a place in their agency, company or client work. How many people will leave the conference thinking LGBT-focused communications is phenomenal? We’ll have an update on the conference and our presentation next week.
