Learning From the Best

DiverstiyInc.com recently published its annual list of top 10 companies for recruitment and retention.  While the list includes companies that make the grade with a variety of diversity audiences, these companies also serve as examples for their efforts in hiring qualified LGBT employees.

Among notable facts, 90 percent of the top ten companies on the 2007 list have a resource group for LGBT employees. It’s important for communications professionals to realize how positive an LGBT employee group can be as a public relations tool.

Aside from the obvious benefits the groups have internally with employee satisfaction and share of voice to the executive suite, these groups serve as public ambassadors for the company in recruiting other LGBT employees and even in general corporate reputation issues that are vital to companies engaging our community
