“The Best and Worst of National News” from GLAAD

by

Glaadlogo_v2_ntl_300dpiGLAAD has this month launched a new media monitoring resource that might be of interest to communications professionals. It’s called “The Best and Worst of National News” and it’s designed to provide “an overview of recent praiseworthy and problematic print, television and radio coverage of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.”

This is only going to be a monthly publication, so I wonder how effective it will be at fostering urgent action on really bad coverage of our community, but as an information resource it sounds like a good idea. Resources that shed light on both good and bad coverage, and thereby encourage discussion and dialogue, are helpful and necessary.
