What a difference
a year makes

J0385751Before we started this site, I was satisfied with my involvement of just reading my cache of blogs for work, news or amusement.  I had no yearning to be a blogger myself.  A year later, I’ve warmed to the idea. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team and am amazed at the breadth of topics we’ve covered – all tied to gay and lesbian communications.

There was a need for an LGBT-related communications site that Out Front Blog has more than filled.  We’ve posted on a wide range of issues, with sometimes differing perspectives on certain campaigns  and certain marketing tactics.

That diversity of opinions is an aspect of the blog that makes us unique.  I  enjoy reading the various perspectives within our team of bloggers and admiring the knowledge, forethought and candor of each new post.  The site has created an ongoing dialogue that not only relays information about the latest LGBT issues but also, for many people, stimulates an interest in researching related topics and new information sources.

It has also kept me impressed daily with the team we’ve assembled on this site and within FH Out Front itself.  It’s a group of professionals who not only know about LGBT communications but have a passion for it – for doing it right.

I’ve also been impressed with our readers and the feedback they add to our dialogue.  That forum for dialogue is what we’ve tried to create on the site.

We have the opportunity to make Out Front Blog an even more active exchange of ideas now that we have a couple hundred posts under our belt.  Also, I’m anxiously looking forward to that dialogue and seeing what my colleagues bring to the table for this second year.
